    For me nothing is worse than Adriana’s death in The Sopranos. Out of all the characters you expect to die in that series, she was probably last on my list. It was such a brave and brilliant decision by Chase and company to do it the way they did.

    Great article! This really sums up my own opinion of Allen as well. While I agree that some of his films are quite bad, I even found aspects of Cassandra’s Dream interesting enough to make it better than the majority of films released throughout the year. But with Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Midnight in Paris, and now Blue Jasmine he has shown that he is back to form. I too dread the time when there is no longer a yearly Allen film.

    Great list! I need to see The Great Beauty! Frances Ha, The Hunt, and 12 Years a Slave are at the head of my own Top 10. Frances Ha is one of the most delightful films I’ve seen in years, while The Hunt and 12 Years a Slave are so moving and stirring the response is almost physical.
