How the Past and Present Are Closer Than We Think

Analyze how gender issues in the writings of the past and present are similar to how things are now. For example, look at The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood, and explore something like The Golden Girls, or a play like A Raisin In The Sun. What do they say about womanhood? How have things changed? How is there still relevance from the past? What does this say about women’s role in society today?

I think this is a difficult topic, and there were issues with this about Hamilton as well. I think it comes down to the viewer and what each person wants.

Also, I think you produced quality work, and I appreciate that you drew on other people’s ideas, and gave them credit, to enhance your argument.

How Important is Historical Accuracy in Films?

I think that this is a clever way for feminism to work. Often, as mentioned in your piece, we just assume that a women’s place is in the kitchen, therefore this is what she should be doing. However, there really is the potential for women to command the space and make it into something rewarding for them.

    Really great piece!!!

    Feminism and Food in Film

I love the Golden Girls and I love how it still holds up today with its humour and messages. I think your approach to exploring this show was really interesting and insightful. The part that resonated with me the most was about the episode with Lily, and how it was quite advanced for it’s time with how it dealt with someone having a disability.

    This is well written piece!
