A comparison between those who have successfully transitioned vs. those who did not might be interesting in order to determine if there is a trend. Wrestlers have been mentioned, but others like musicians (Dwight Yoakam), etc. should also be part of the analysis. – pudgeblossom 9 years ago

The X-Files Revival

What can X-Files fans expect when the series returns for a limited run?

The fans are going to make comparsion to the orginal series and the show will go for a season or two..flounder then get canned. I don't think the producer will have done enough research to know what the fans really like. – sanjay 9 years ago

I've been a fan of this show for over 20 years now. I watched it every week since it first debuted. I've seen both movies in the theater on opening day, and I loved both. I'm excited to see my favorite characters come back and to finally get to see some new episodes of the show that I love. While there are some fans out there who are already critical, already listing the many ways the new season will go bad, I like to think I am in the majority: a life-long fan excited to see my favorite show come back. – apbinne 9 years ago

Which Fictional Books Should Be Adapted For The Screen?

Is there any fictional books which would be perfect for adaption? If so, then why?

I think with the popularity of biopics like "The Imitation Game," and "The Theory of Everything," I think an adaptation of "The Cryptonomicon" would do really well. – G Anderson Lake 9 years ago

I think "Middlesex" by Jeffery Eugenides would be a great choice. Especially considering the upcoming adaptation of "The Danish Girl." Both stories deal with the transgender identity. – Cagney 9 years ago

The Tamil epic "Ponniyin Selvan" is widely considered to be one of the most exciting stories every told, and this is the reason it has been left untouched for more than 60 years. It is just too perfect to be translated to any other medium. – Akilan 9 years ago

I'd like to see an adaptation of Darren Shan's City trilogy. It has the prefect balance of mystery, fantasy, grittiness and intricate stories. The first two books run parallel to each other so it would be interesting to see this (although I think this would be better for a tv show). The variety of interesting characters (Paucar Wami, Al Jeery, the Cardinal) is just brilliant. – Jamie 9 years ago

A Society Without Creative Expression?

What would a society be that lacks creative expression? Why is it important for creative expression to be a part of a society?

I think creativity is proportionate to interacting with Nature. Humans have observed, learned from Nature and creatively build societies. To continue building staying connected with nature would be important. – KoseSeeks 9 years ago

A society lacking creative expression would be oppressive. I cannot imagine a world where one could not have their own outlet for creative expression nor one that I could not appreciate others creative expression. We learn to open our minds to other possibilities and ways of doing and thinking, to expand who we are and our relationship with the world around us. – brightcloud 9 years ago

Referring to any famous dystopic novel could aid in helping readers truly envision what a world without creative expression would be like, assuming they've already read it.
