The importance of a 'Crazy' character on TV.

    Discuss the show ‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’.
Rebecca Bunch is not your typical heroine or female role model protagonist in a series. The title of the show literally refers to her as ‘crazy’ and the show starts off with her moving across the country to stalk her ex-boyfriend to play tricks and games in hopes to make him fall in love with her. Yeah sure, she behaves crazy and insane and is completely delusional but is there something profoundly powerful in her character as well? Is she a positive and strong female character for viewers? In this past season she was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and the last few episodes dealt with her trying to understand and work through her new diagnosis. Often women have been labelled as ‘crazy’ by ex-boyfriends or men in general to excuse their own behaviour or to diminish the validity of women’s claims. What is this show tackling in using the word ‘crazy’ and what is the importance of Rebecca Bunch’s role on television?

I think creative writers are talented and that they have an imagination that is wide and vivid, and a way of using words to bring that imagination onto paper. I am in a creative writing class currently and it is very clear who is skilled and who lacks that talent of putting imagination onto the page. But of course just because you have the talent does not mean you don’t still need help to perfect it. It takes a lot of patience and rewriting and relearning to write creatively and that needs to be taught (even if it’s self taught). So I believe it is both talent and taught!

Are Creative Writers Taught or Talented?

a solid piece of Ricks evolution throughout the show. I loved Rick so much! was fully a part of the Ricktatorship! I say ‘was’ because after the show killed off Carl I stopped watching. I did not watch the episode of him passing but when I found out he was going to die, I threw in the towel and not even my love for Rick could keep me watching. And I am not even that big a fan of Carl but I just thought the writers decision to kill him was stupid and unwise for the show. Rick has literally lost everything, so how am I going to believe he is not going to kill Negan? They say they killed Carl to give Rick a moral compass, but that does not make sense to me. I would think he would be more angry and vengeful. I don’t no how Rick is doing after his son’s death since I stopped watching, but after Lori died Rick literally went insane, so I would assume losing his son would send him right back into insanity. We are down to what? 3 people from season 1 now, and none of the newer characters are strong enough to keep me watching, and after they killed Carl for a poor plot fix, I had to say bye bye to that zombie world.

enjoyed this read! I didn’t know of the first two films so that was interesting to read about. I think Black Panther is so important to black people (as is mentioned) because it is rooted in Africa (a fictional place) in Africa, but none the less Africa, and an Africa that is thriving and far more advanced than other parts of the world. It brought us back to our roots, and did not shy away from African language, dress and traditions. Another reason this movie was so important was the female cast and how strong and powerful they were (on their own), rocking their natural hair or a shaven head or braids, and killing it! I mean I could go on and on and on about how important this film is for the black community but it really comes down to representation and allowing black writers and voices to create masterpieces!
