How films use time to help us understand the connection of events in a story? There are a lot of ways this can be interpreted. This may be repetitive with the other notes but you have to reduce vagueness. Many films play with time in some way or another, normally to create a certain effect through alternative film structure. Is there a specific reason why Donnie Darko plays with time? How does the audience perceive it? You could limit this to Donnie Darko but there are plenty of other films, most notably the works of Andrei Tarkovsky, that use time to create a certain cinematic effect. – Connor6 years ago
