Will Pokemon Sun & Moon's Formula Be Incoroporated To Future Pokemon Titles?

After playing the games a couple of months ago, I felt the need to ponder and ask myself will this be the end of the typical collect eight badges concept the Pokemon video games have been running with since Pokemon Red & Blue. So my question to you would be;

Would you think GameFreak’s next Pokemon game for the Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo Switch, will have something similar to the island challenges or will it be benefitial for them and yourself, that GF change it back to the old format?

If you want to get more fancy with your response, what would like to see return or changed in the next set of Pokemon games? (Think generation eight, remakes, etc.)
