Macross: Do you remember love?: Why isn't this in America?!

The Macross series hasn’t gotten the respect it deserves in America. It was picked up by distribution company, Harmony Gold and edited into an entry for the their series Robotech. After which, the company held the right so tightly it made it so few other Macross series had a chance to come to America. This means shows like Macross 7 and Macross Frontier never got the releases in America they deserved. The worst of these incidents is the fact one of the best movies based on an anime TV series isn’t easily available for fans around the world to enjoy. Of course I am talking about Macross: Do you remember love?

The movie summarizes the events of the TV series (another entry into my "Retelling" Theme month) and finds a way to compress the events of the 36 episodes from the TV series into one manageable movie without losing any of the energy. We are still left with a few plot holes which never get properly addressed but at the same time, the overall detail with the art coupled with the intense final action scene makes this one all fans of mecha need to track down. Sadly, its harder to track down then it should be.
