comics Write this topicSpider-Man, Civil War and PhilosophySome work has been written on Marvel's Civil War and how it can correlated to deontology and utilitarianism, through Captain America and Iron Man. The role of Peter Parker has however been largely downplayed, even though he is perhaps the seminal character of the comic series. To what current might be he associated, if any? And what can that mean for the message of the work as whole?

Miller’s portrayal for provocative and thought evoking in the 80s, it allowed for a new lens when juxtaposing Batman and Superman, and the superhero vigilante within a state. But Miller’s take is no longer provocative, except insofar as it is blatantly exploitative of the character’s gender and ethnicity. It just feels like he’s echoing the super-exploitative nature of slasher films, except that he expects the reader to live some kind of fantasy through the intermission of a sadistic vigilante. But do we really need that kind of hero to relate to anymore? | Frank Miller's Return To Batman Comics |
Although I agree that structurally Bloodborne is closely related to Souls games, I feel that the regression in the variety of stats/weapons/spells is actually a step back. Do you believe that the variety in those factors is something defining to the Souls franchise? Or is it really the difficulty/world building that is most important? | Dark Souls: What Makes Gamers Endure the Pain? |
The storytelling is usually on point for the original continuity (Mobile Suit, Zeta, ZZ, Char’s Counterattack, Unicorn and assorted materials), but it tends to get bogged down by Tomino’s moodiness. Victory Gundam feels almost impossible to watch and his stint with Zeta is downright brutal compared to his other material. He needs to be grounded by a supervising producer. Had he been, G no Reconguista would have benefited greatly. His work is still wonderful though.
