Celebrities and influencers, is there even a difference?

While it is hotly debated whether or not the age of the movie star is coming to an end, in this era, it seems that there is a divide in the entertainment industry between celebrities and “influencers”. The term celebrity seems to be reserved and applied to anyone who garners their “fame” through means of television, film, and music. Meanwhile, the term influencer is most used when referring to those who made their rise to fame on the internet via YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. Why do you think there seems to be such a distinction between who each term applies to? Is it possible for someone to move between the terms(i.e. going from being called a celebrity to being called an influence or vice versa)?
