The representation of Teengers in film

Analyze the shift in the representation of the teenager in films from early 2000s to now. How have the morals and ideolgies changed on issues such as teenage pregnancy and popularity.

  • This topic is really broad. I would definitely narrow it down to a couple concrete examples: say, compare tow films from the early 2000s with two more contemporary films. – Allie Dawson 7 years ago

  • Perhaps you should think about making the gap larger between eras. Early 2000's may be a little to close to present day to see a significant shift in how teenagers are represented. – MikeySheff 7 years ago

  • too broad maybe do a comparison by focusing on two/three and no more specific films. Juno would be a good example of a film that seems liberal but whose values in the end are conventional. – CostanzaCasati 7 years ago

  • This would be a great topic. I would recommend A Walk To Remember as a movie that portrayed teenagers well. – Munjeera 7 years ago

  • Please note that the title has a typo. Teengers should be teenagers. – Munjeera 7 years ago

  • Pick a few representative movies from different decades and compare and contrast how teenagers are seen interacting with their parents, authority figures, and friends. Stick with the same interactions in each movie to write about continuity or changes. Significant changes can raise issues of why that might be so. – Joseph Cernik 6 years ago

  • My only question would be why. – T. Palomino 2 years ago
