We all love character development, but when it comes to a clock-ticking in order to save the world, is there any time for it. And if it doesn’t, what would you add to the formula?

This is a fantastic topic. At what point did character development become important to an audience? Fairy tales contain no development and one could argue that ancient Greek plays also contained no meaningful changes in character--often a play would simply demonstrate the failures of a character without any ability or option to change. – jackanapes7 years ago
