Netflix and Streaming: How Television is Changing | |
Excellent article! Having witnessed many changes; such as the internet in its infancy and later on the almighty Google (Let Go and Let Google), I have often felt that the human aspect of ‘knowledge bearing’ is still best delivered by flesh and bone. One reason being is that we relate far better to our own species as their knowledge (or ability to obtain it) reflects our own potential back to us. Another reason is the collective effort effect – we are all in this together are we not? Each facet, peripheral character, wage earner, hedge fund manager, Neuroscientist and ditch-digger creates the fabric of our known humanity. I completely enjoyed the concept of this article. Stating that the Antihero makes for a more plausible character, as well as positioning that Antihero as a star, truly gave me food for thought. I have always found the Antiheroes vast in their scope of evil and complex in their pockets of unaccountability. A very readable piece – Thank you! | The Rise of Antiheroes in Modern Superhero Films |
Fantastic fresh and current article and idea! I, too, believe Netflix is the next big thing. Millennials seemed to have spearheaded this as known cordcutters. Having watched the economy tumble, they refuse to be locked into tradition. I say Amen to that! Watching TV without cable was an untenable dream a few short years ago. I know of many in this age category that are forgoing peripheral channels and paying only for what they want. They are a force to be reckoned with and the success of Netflix, Youtube, and online streaming everywhere is a reflection of this.
