I have absolutely no problem with remasters of past games as long as they do not take the place of new IP’s. As much as I love a lot of these older games, Kingdom Hearts included, I loved them because they were new and different. While I can appreciate bringing a new and younger audience an experience they may not have seen before, I’m still excited to see what else the industry has to offer, perhaps improving over past accomplishments and learning to grow into, once again, new and exciting territory. | An Abundance of Remasters: Originality in the Gaming Industry |
I remember playing DW3 in the Hu Lao Gate stage, where Lu Bu first shows up. The game actively tells you to avoid fighting him, and any encounter with him will usually end up with you getting horribly and efficiently murdered. In fact, one of the best items in the game can only be unlocked after beating him, should you dare to try. Nintendo has often failed to see how passionate fans tend to benefit them in the long run. I really hope Nintendo becomes a bit more open-minded in their approach to copyright in the future.
