I sit awkwardly somewhere between the arts, the sciences and my new-found love - languages. I'm obsessed with Doctor Who, film scores, Discworld and just, well, stuff.

I loved the Truth! I think Night Watch is my favourite, but the Truth is still up there. Yep, re-reading is the best bit. | How Terry Pratchett's Discworld Has Evolved |

Hah, I got one of my friends a Discworld book about a year ago. They haven’t mentioned it to me even once since then, so I’m afraid I must have judged them wrong and gotten them the wrong book, so they didn’t like it :/ | How Terry Pratchett's Discworld Has Evolved |
Ha, when I finally read the Colour of Magic and the Light Fantastic (extremely late on) I sat down and said “no reader should ever begin with the first two books”. They’re good, don’t get me wrong, but they’re bound to turn people off the series if they don’t like that sort of thing, and most readers won’t realise that it’s worth trying more books until it sticks. | How Terry Pratchett's Discworld Has Evolved |
Ha, actually I haven’t seen much of the Burton films, so I can’t say anything there. I think my favourite take on Batman was ‘The Batman’ TV series that WB did (somewhat) recently (okay, maybe not so recently). I liked the characterisation of Batman and Bruce Wayne, I thought that was excellently done – and the stories weren’t ‘campy’, but they weren’t too dark, either, as befits a story based on a comic book. | Where 'Doctor Who' Should go in the Future |
Thanks! I’m glad you liked it. I must say, after the proms – the orchestrated equivalents of many of the older Who songs are marvellous. But there still is a lack of the thematic base. | The Music of Doctor Who: 6 Themes and Variations to Get You Hooked |

😀 Brilliant! I’ll have you know that I wrote this article more to encourage other readers than as a simple study, so I’m glad I’ve succeeded. Don’t worry about the amount of books; many readers I know have only actually read 5 or so.
