I also thought the film was “good” but not great, but I must give it credit for very inventive action sequences. And I hope to do an article soon discussing the influences of Eva, and other anime, on Pacific Rim, because there were a lot! | Pacific Rim 2: Expectations for Guillermo del Toro's Sequel |
Loved the article. Would love to see you discuss setting in anime, specifically Hayao Miyazaki films. His style of film really focuses on setting, not only in animation but the development of the story and its characters. | World Building in Animation: The Scene Behind the Scene |
This is an interesting list. I’m a little sad ‘Her’ wasn’t on here, as I think it is not only a beautiful love story but a story of our time. It really transcends beyond a simple love story. | The 10 Best Movies of 2013 |
I like your choices, but I would have loved to see “In the Mood For Love” and the “The InTouchables” on here. | 10 of the Best Foreign Films... Of the Last 15 Years |
I gave up on Glee during season 3, but my sister started watching it again and man, does it suck! All the new characters are only outlines of real characters, they lack actual depth. Plus the way Murphy and crew drops and picks up stories lines is super annoying and leads to horrible story telling. This tendency makes it seem less like real life and more like everyone is just on a stage miming actual life. | 4 Reasons Why Glee Should be Cancelled |
I’m really going to miss the dynamic between Leslie and Anne. I feel like Anne really helped ground Leslie’s outrageous behavior sometimes. I guess they could try to introduce a new character to replace Anne, but not sure it would feel natural. And to the idea of more Donna, while I LOVE Donna, her and Leslie are not best friend material. | Parks and Recreation: What to Expect After Rashida Jones’s Departure |
This was my favorite film of 2013. It was not just a story about a man falling in love with an operating system, but love in general and how it helps us find ourselves. Because once he finds love, he actually finds happiness, not in Samantha but himself. | What if None of This is Real?: Digital Love in 'Her' |
I think stereotypes are just part of the sitcom. They are easy to latch onto and make fun of, or laugh with. They do not require a lot of thinking and make the show “easy” to watch.
