I'm a sucker for anything sweet and romantic, and when I'm not reading, watching films or catching up on my TV shows, I'm writing or working. What a life I lead!

Thanks for your comment Sam. Yes. They were indeed from the book, perhaps I should have mentioned it but it slipped my mind when I was comparing the musical and the film. But that is the beauty of different mediums.

What about Dexter? I’d say he’s morally ambiguous. I was expecting him to be in this list. Surprised that he wasn’t. Any reason why you didn’t decide to include him?

I actually really liked Eddie Redmayne’s rendition of Empty Chairs At Empty Tables as well. In fact, while I think Anne Hathaway knocked it right out of the park with her rendition of I Dreamed A Dream, I still feel it sounds better with the visuals than as a track on it’s own. And even though Eddie Redmayne’s Empty Chairs At Empty Tables couldn’t compare to Anne Hathaway’s performance of I Dreamed A Dream in the film, I think his performance worked both in the film and as a track on it’s own. Surprised that it wasn’t mentioned here at all.

Nah! You’re probably not the only one who found Anne Hathaway’s singing to be grating. There will always be differing opinions and yes I agree, you can never please everyone. And as much as I enjoyed Tom Hooper’s Les Misérables, nothing beats the original musical.
