I like anime and cats. That's pretty much it.

Scary Episodes of Non-Horror Anime

Talk about episodes of anime that aren't in the Horror genre that are still frightening to the viewer. Examples include the episode with Nina Tucker in FullMetal Alchemist and the clown episode of Cowboy Bebop.

  • It would be really cool to look at how explosive the Nina Tucker scene has become. While it horrified most viewers/readers, others made it into memos, cosplayed it, and blew it up to something super popular. – selizabeth 10 years ago

  • Would require a little working on definition of "horror anime" then. Haha, for example, does Madoka episode 3 count? – Justin Wu 10 years ago

I’m definitely in the nostalgia category. My grandpa worked on rides in Disney Land (in CA) so we got discounts on entrance to the park, so I went to Disney Land practically every summer. It was so fun, it’s too bad I live in CT now and thus am on the completely wrong side of the US to go to Disney Land.

Dystopian novels being written in a teenager’s point of view are interesting to me because the mere concept of a ‘teenager’ is actually relatively new in our society. It used to to be that you were a kid until 18, then you were an adult, but sometime in the 1970’s or 80’s (I’m close, but I don’t remember exact dates) society went ‘Hey, what if there’s a stage BETWEEN kid and adult??’ and thus the word ‘teenager’ is used to describe the ages 13-18. Having YA novels (which is specifically for teenagers) is a pretty cool idea on it’s own, but when you start adding say, fantasy elements or sci-fi elements, or dystopian elements, you get teenagers who want to read, and there’s books just for them!
