I never thought about To Kill a Mockingbird as a children’s novel. I still think that it serves as a great attempt to tackle racism, if only skimming the surface. Even if it is a children’s novel, what’s wrong with that? By reading through the perspective of a child, we get a youthful, honest point of view that encompasses all the curiosity and bluntness of children, making it relatable to everyone.
