I’ve noticed that slapstick is a form of comedy traditionally performed by men but Bridesmaids is an example of slapstick performed by women and it’s pretty hilarious and was quite popular when it came out. While researching this article, I started to get the impression that George Eliot chose her own happiness over trying to fit into society.
