Gaming and its impact on society.Today more people than ever play video games. There are professionals and streamers who can truly make a living out of a past time many never thought could be such a thing. Working at a game store I see people I also would never have thought playing video games. I do not believe there is an age range that does not play or has been exposed to video games. Its impact on society I believe is a good one as people can connect with others with a similar passion such as game cons or playing online MMO's and meeting new friends. Its industry also creates thousands of jobs and brings people from all aspects of the world together to create a masterpiece. Artists, sound designers, programmers, you name it and they have a place in game design! That is one of the great things about the new age we are in. No matter your hobby or your interests there always seems to be an option for you.

How Empathy Makes Katawa Shoujo Worth Playing | |
The reason behind the infected in the Last of Us is what really got me into the game. It was just a you and some friends against hordes of zombies, it was survival with a real story. Ellie and Joel didn’t just run around trigger happy killing all of the zombies in their path. You needed strategy and to prepare for each fight. Also the chemistry between Joel and Ellie really brought me into the game even more, plus the beautiful visuals. Naughty Dog once again bringing a masterpiece to gamer’s around the world. | The Last Of Us: Inspiration Behind the Infected |
I believe just like any industry, Anime has its varied states. Sure there are a lot more romance and sexual themes in most anime now but there are still some ones that are innocent and cute to a sense as well as those that are about fighting or just normal high school life (which is one of the biggest trends of most anime). What I find most interesting is the anime that have 300 or more episodes, to dissect and see what it is that makes them so popular over the 1 or 2 season anime. I personally loved Darker Than Black and Plastic Memories, two anime that only had a handful of seasons but overall I think they were rather great overall. They had meaningful dialogues and fighting as well as a real story behind them. I think a lot of anime now streams towards the youth of Japan since many of their young teens tend to be single and not want anything to do with relations. This is of course my opinion but I feel this trend has been so strong lately due to the fact of Japan’s decline in population. | Titillating Anime |
I was able to 100% the whole game (Lilly was my favorite route). Overall I think being able to see the world from a perspective of those with handicaps (sure in a romantic setting) widened my view and really allowed me to have empathy for them. Most of the girls weren’t just handicapped, they had such sad backgrounds. Like Hanako or Emi. I really felt attached to each one as I played their routes and thought about how life might be if I was to be in their situation or Hisao’s. It makes you appreciate your life more after living their struggles and coping with just how hard it can be to live.
