The Political Impact of Science Fiction FilmsFrom Star Wars and Star Trek to movies like Dune, there has always been either establishment affirming or anti-establishment views within these films. It would be interesting to compare and contrast science fiction films throughout the ages and how they take a look at the societies we grew up in within a detached viewpoint and how it has affected our own view on politics and ourselves.

I think that The Book Thief is a metaphysical commentary on not only how we view death or war but also how we view life and how words can breathe life back into us. Also, I truly believe that the movie suffers without deaths commentary, its like having stew without salt. It might sustain you just as well but you miss the salt. Overall I thought this was a very in-depth and erudite commentary on not only a very deep book but also a very hard subject. | Themes in The Book Thief |
I think that nowadays, even with the new Charlies Angels and Star Wars films, people just write female characters to get butts in seats and focus less on the character arc.
