I have never even thought about trying this type of gaming before, your article has made me want to give it a try though! Good read 🙂

I would agree with Kahlias comment! Especially with Oldboy, that film should definitely be included in a list like this :)in my opinion any way!

It was a good read though! Just difficult to make the statement that they are the greatest characters from such a wide selection of films within in a really big time-period.

Thanks for this article! I have been looking to watch more foreign films and this is a good list to start with 🙂 great to see all the other recommendations also. Have you seen Cache (also known as Hidden) ? That one is worth a watch, most notable foreign film I have seen recently. Sin Nombre was also very good.

I completely agree with your criticisms of Brave. Especially with the handling of the Scottish backdrop. I am also Scottish and I was really excited to hear that a major animation production company with a world-wide fan base like Pixar was going to make a film based there, but it was so disappointing. They represented Scotland so poorly; playing to stereotypes and not exploring our truly great history at all! I am not a fan of Brave in the slightest, but not sure if I am just blinded by my love of Scotland.

This is a really interesting article! I agree there needs to be a distinction between the two. It would definitely be helpful to have two separate lists of great movies to study and great movies just to watch and enjoy. I have fallen into the same trap as you by watching the former when I was really just wanting some plain and simple entertainment. I have somehow never seen Citzen Kane, even though I would count myself as one of the cinephiles, I will definitely need to watch it soon.

Your article has given me a lot to think about 🙂

I love this show, totally agree with your article 🙂 I think the mix of humour and horror is one of the best things about it, along with the characters and narrative. It is all great. And I really want the car!

Thank you Claire! For me it is one of the biggest disappointments just because DK is one of my favourite films, it completely wowed me, so DKR had further to fall than any other film I have seen of late 🙂 yeah that probably would have changed my feelings towards Iron Man 3!

High School Musical is a strange one, I can see how technically it ended better than it started since the acting and narrative improved. But I wouldn’t necessarily say they are good films and so I would not include it in a list of satisfying trilogies.

I think Back to the Future would have been better as a single, great film but again, it has been a while since I have seen it so maybe I should give it a second watch if you think it is a worthy trilogy 🙂
