Cinderella, Beauty and The Beast, Sleeping beauty introduces sexual abuse at a young ages. Think about the dark story of Beauty and the Beast and Sleeping Beauty. I am concerned because girls and boys are taught that its okay to have stalkers ( sexual harassment) and its okay for a man to force himself on you while you’re asleep. I think Disney is sending the wrong messages to young girls and the fact that sex education is limited… it creates rape culture. I think sitcoms are embracing the new millennial woman. She makes her own money, her own decisions, and define her sexuality. Viewers underestimate gender in television series, forty years ago the ” Leave it to Beaver ” shaped the American gender ideology. We all know that ” Leave it to beaver” is a false image of gender ideology.
