New Shoujo Mangas to watch out for

If we are going to make a list of shoujo mangas which had their debut last year or maybe 2 years ago, what shoujo mangas do you suggest? I think this topic will be very interesting especially for those who recently started in this genre. It will also be good for old timers who are at a loss for something to read.

  • I would like to read this article! I never read shojo manga because I find them boring and predictable but I recently finished Ao Haru Ride and I loved it. I can't find a good source on the internet that can suggest RECENT shojo manga that are enjoyable and different. It would be helpful to provide at least 5 different titles of very different stories – sdea 9 years ago

If you will be talking about anime series under romance, I think it would have been best if you have put a series. You said so yourself that this series glorifies immaturity. There are may series under romance in which the characters mature over time and that is all because they fall in love. Why not have series like Kimi ni Todoke or Tonari no kaibutsu-kun be set in that genre instead?

This topic is indeed interesting! I think the real issue of plastic surgery stems from the concept of self-acceptance. If Han-na accepted her former self, she would not have gone under surgery. I think the major twist that made the story have a happy ending is that the guy met the Han-na way before her surgery and was already attracted to her. This is perhaps the reason why he still accepted Han-na after he discovered what she did. This makes the case different from the incident in China. The guy never knew the girl before hand. So I guess it was harder for him to accept the truth.
