film Write this topicHow to Use Product PlacementIn many films, the most recent being "Pitch Perfect 2," there are many obvious plugs for various companies (like the Beats headphones." For many, it is a turn; off because of how obvious the advertisement is (like it's a commercial instead of a film). It is understandable that the film needs financiers, but isn't there a way to make it less obvious? What are some other films that have done this? Some films that have "good" product placements?

film Write this topicPros and cons of "Spring Breakers.""Spring Breakers" was given mixed reviews by audiences. Many thought that it was a work of art– genius, even. Others found it to be lacking in story and actual content. What are your thoughts on the movie? What made it good? What made it bad?

film Write this topicSexism in "Spring Breakers"After discussing the film with several other film students, I have discovered that most people believe the film to be amazing (genius, even). I do believe that it has it's merits, however I believe that the story is lacking. The constant slow-motion of boobs and butts is distracting and objectifying to women. "Spring Break" does not accurately portray the spring break season and goes off-road from any inkling of a story. What are your thoughts on the matter?

Mindhunter: A gritty insight into criminal psychology | |
I loved seeing the Prince become a three-dimensional character in the new Cinderella! It made this rendition of the frequently retold story that much more different and noteworthy. Great article! I thoroughly enjoyed reading it! | The Developed Role of the Prince in Disney’s Live Action Cinderella (2015) |
I have seen Cabin in the Woods! However I forgot about it when I was writing my article. It would have been an interesting addition! Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard put an interesting spin on the horror film. One element I particularly enjoyed was the use of pheromones to manipulate the characters. | It Follows and The Power of Sex |
I have! That is another film that embraces horror stereotypes explicitly rather than implicitly (like Friday the 13th, etc)! | It Follows and The Power of Sex |
Isn’t that interesting? Not one parent was spotted (except for when the creature took on the likeness of Greg’s mother– but that doesn’t really count). | It Follows and The Power of Sex |
I would like to hear more about what you thought about the film. | It Follows and The Power of Sex |
Great article! I find it hard to start writing because I am scared that it will not turn out the way I visualize it. However, writing is rewriting– it is important to just get your thoughts down and you can tune it later! 🙂 Thanks for the tips! | Writing: The Real Reason You Procrastinate |
Breaking the fourth wall is definitely something that makes Woody Allen Unique! | Annie Hall, Star Wars, and The Battle Between Art and Commerce |
I absolutely LOVED Mindhunter! The story is captivating, beautifully shot, and expertly written.
