games Write this topicVideo Game SpectatorsThe rise of video gaming as a spectator sport is very interesting. Platforms like Twitch have become enormous in their popularity. While some might think this is simply a matter of gamers watching other gamers, there is a demographic of non gamers who enjoy watching as well. It would be interesting to better examine the demographics of spectators for gaming and compare it to demographics for watching sports. For instance, are there more non gamers watching adventure based games or racing games? Do females gravitate to a particular genre of gaming over others? etc

The Significance of Tina to Bob's Burgers | |
He has so much appeal for me because he seems like a really genuine and together person. So many comedians are hilarious but super jaded. Its refreshing to see someone perform who isn’t trying to play up how weird or vulgar they can be. When so many people try that style of comedy, it stops being edgy or clever. | Spotlight on Aziz Ansari: Comedy for the Modern Era |
Since writing this, he has also done a lot in regards to raising money for different community projects in New York. I find it really interesting that his platform has worked for charities in a way that appeals to people in a personal yet distant way. I think people gravitate to this type of charity because it isn’t confrontational and abrupt. | Humans of New York: Art in Your Pocket |
One of the better aspects of this shift is holding these shows more accountable to their plot lines. I recently watched old episodes of Friends on Netflix and immediately noticed how many inconsistencies they had. Also I feel that binge watching has allowed for better stories to be told. Stories that have more detail might have been difficult to remember before this immediate access. To compensate for the gaps in time, stories would get simplified. Now people expect to have more layered content. | Netflix and Streaming: How Television is Changing |
Awesome. I love all of these things about Tina as well. I couldn’t pinpoint until reading this, just how much I appreciate that her character is supported by the family. Such a great portrayal of a different type of teenage girl.
