Hi Esther, thanks for your comment and link. I agree, Mae West was a very refreshing actress/ writer/ director because of her focus on the forgotten parts and topics of society of that era – sex, african americans, gays and lesbians.

Thanks for the suggestions. I’ve seen several documenteries on the silent era. My favourite is the ‘Hollywood’ series. It discussess all parts of silent film – stars, directors, censorship, technology and it is available on Youtube.

Me too. I am obsessed with Precode and looking at Rin Tin Tin’s career I think he really deserved a nomination.
